Outpatient Rehab in Denville, the Hub of Morris County

Denville is known as the Hub of Morris County, with Interstate 80, Route 46, Route 10 and Route 53 all passing through the township. About 17,100 people live in the township, in neighborhoods built around lakes such as Indian Lake, Cedar Lake, Lake Arrowhead and Rock Ridge, as well as Union Hill and Mount Tabor. NJ Transit trains on the Morristown and Montclair-Boonton lines stop at Denville station.

Our office in West Milford is a drive north along Green Pond Road. For Denville residents who commute or work full days, our evening track and virtual IOP make it possible to stay in treatment without missing work.

Intensive Outpatient Program Schedules

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) runs three to four sessions a week of about three hours each, usually for eight to twelve weeks. Denville residents can choose the format that suits them:

  • Daytime IOP for people who work evenings, are between jobs or have children in school during the day.
  • Evening IOP for people who work during the day.
  • Virtual IOP for people who prefer to attend from home by secure video.

If you need more structure at the start, partial care provides several hours of treatment a day. After IOP, our outpatient program and aftercare continue your support with fewer sessions.

Medication-Assisted Treatment in Our Outpatient Program

Heroin accounted for nearly a quarter of Denville admissions. For people with opioid use disorder, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can reduce cravings and withdrawal so you can focus on therapy. We prescribe buprenorphine, often known as Suboxone, and naltrexone, which is also used for alcohol use disorder. Medication is always combined with counseling in our program.

Therapy and Mental Health Support

Treatment combines group therapy, individual therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Family therapy is part of the program, and 12-step principles are available if they help you.

Many people who struggle with substance use also face anxiety, depression or trauma. Our dual diagnosis treatment addresses both in the same plan.

What to Expect in Your First Week

You then meet a clinician for an assessment, agree on a level of care and choose a day, evening or virtual track. Your first week focuses on settling in, meeting your group and setting goals with your counselor.

The Hope Institute has truly changed my life. Walking through these doors was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it quickly became clear that I was exactly where I needed to be. The staff here is extraordinary. Every counselor, therapist, nurse, tech, and support staff member genuinely cares about the people they’re serving. They don’t treat you like a number or a diagnosis. They treat you like a person worthy of recovery, respect, and hope. I especially want to recognize Carrie, the director. She is the kind of leader every treatment center should have. I’ve watched her advocate tirelessly for the people here, making sure each person gets the care, resources, and support they need. She is incredibly approachable, down to earth, and always willing to stop what she’s doing to listen. It’s obvious that this isn’t just a job for her. She has created a culture where everyone feels valued, safe, and cared for. Her leadership sets the tone for the entire program, and you can see its impact in every corner of the Hope Institute. The program itself is outstanding. It challenges you to be honest with yourself while giving you the tools to build a lasting recovery. Every group, every therapy session, and every conversation has helped me grow. Recovery isn’t easy, but the Hope Institute has created an environment where healing feels possible. The houses are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. They feel like homes, not institutions. That sense of comfort makes it easier to focus on the real work of recovery. What has surprised me the most is the community. The people here have become some of the biggest sources of encouragement in my life. I’ve laughed, cried, learned, and grown alongside people who understand exactly what this journey feels like. There is something incredibly powerful about recovering together. I came here feeling broken and overwhelmed by addiction. I’m leaving with hope, purpose, and confidence that I can build a better life. The Hope Institute didn’t just help me get sober. It helped me rediscover the person I was always meant to be. If you’re considering treatment for yourself or someone you love, I cannot recommend the Hope Institute highly enough. This place saves lives, and I will always be grateful that it helped save mine.

The Hope Institute changed my life; their program didn’t just help me to stay clean, it also helped me work towards who I want to be, it taught me how to live, how to feel, and how to believe that recovery is possible. The staff are incredible, compassionate, knowledgeable, patient, and committed to helping people heal. Every clinician, tech, and support staff member made sure I felt safe, understood, and respected. I learned tools that I use every day, and for the first time, recovery feels sustainable. The environment is welcoming, clean, and calm. My therapist Jillian listened without judgment, challenged me when I needed it, and supported me when I felt like giving up. This place gave me hope when I had none and saved my life in ways I’ll never fully be able to put into words. I am forever grateful for the guidance, honesty, community, and hope I found here

Jason Krail from the Hope institute was a breath of fresh air. He helped me and my family with so many things especially with mental health. Still to this day I keep in contact with Jason. His experience himself with drug addiction, mental health, and his beautiful journey through life gives me and a lot of people that I know proof that recovery works! I highly recommend The Hope Institute. 👏🏻

Jason Krail is truly exceptional at what he does. His compassion, professionalism, and genuine commitment to people in recovery make a real difference. Jason has a rare ability to meet people where they are, listen without judgment, and provide guidance that feels both supportive and empowering. You can tell he deeply cares about long-term recovery, not just checking boxes. Anyone working with Jason or being guided by him is in incredibly capable hands. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

The Hope Institute truly lives up to its name. They help people recover by creating a safe, supportive, and genuinely positive environment. What really stands out is how welcoming and family-like it feels for both the clients and the staff. You can really see the impact they make on people who come in for the first time feeling scared or confused. Over time, those same individuals begin to open up, come out of their shell, and actively participate in their recovery. That kind of growth speaks volumes about the care, patience, and compassion shown here. Everyone is treated with respect and understanding, and there’s a strong sense of community throughout the program. Recovery here feels hopeful, empowering, and uplifting. I’m truly grateful for the environment they’ve created.
