Outpatient Rehab Built Around a Morristown Workday
Morristown is the county seat of Morris County, a town of about 20,200 people completely surrounded by Morris Township. Life here centers on the Morristown Green, Morristown National Historical Park and Morristown Medical Center. NJ Transit’s Morristown Line runs to Hoboken and New York Penn Station, and Interstate 287 passes right through town.
If your day is built around a train commute, a hospital shift or a full office schedule, our evening intensive outpatient track lets you attend treatment after work. The day track suits people who work evenings or are between jobs, and virtual IOP brings the same sessions to your home.
Alcohol and Cocaine in Morristown's 2024 Admissions

- Cocaine: 34 (16%)
- Heroin: 34 (16%)

Levels of Care for Morristown Residents
Treatment starts with an assessment, and your clinician recommends the level that fits. Partial care is our most structured option, with several hours of treatment a day on multiple days each week. Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) meets three to four times a week for about three hours per session, usually for eight to twelve weeks. As you progress, our outpatient program and aftercare keep support in place with fewer sessions.
Treatment for Cocaine, Alcohol and Opioid Use
There is no FDA-approved medication for cocaine addiction, so treatment relies on therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy helps you recognize the situations, people and feelings that lead to use and build practical ways to handle them.
For alcohol or opioid use disorder, medication-assisted treatment is available in our office. We prescribe buprenorphine (often known as Suboxone) and naltrexone, always alongside counseling. We also treat heroin and fentanyl addiction, prescription drug addiction and meth addiction.
Inside Our Outpatient Program
Each IOP week includes group therapy with other adults working through similar challenges, individual therapy with your counselor, and skills work on cravings, triggers and stress. Motivational interviewing helps you build on your own reasons for change, family therapy is part of the program, and 12-step principles are available if they help you.
If anxiety, depression or trauma is part of what you are dealing with, our dual diagnosis treatment addresses it in the same plan.

The Hope Institute has truly changed my life. Walking through these doors was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it quickly became clear that I was exactly where I needed to be. The staff here is extraordinary. Every counselor, therapist, nurse, tech, and support staff member genuinely cares about the people they’re serving. They don’t treat you like a number or a diagnosis. They treat you like a person worthy of recovery, respect, and hope. I especially want to recognize Carrie, the director. She is the kind of leader every treatment center should have. I’ve watched her advocate tirelessly for the people here, making sure each person gets the care, resources, and support they need. She is incredibly approachable, down to earth, and always willing to stop what she’s doing to listen. It’s obvious that this isn’t just a job for her. She has created a culture where everyone feels valued, safe, and cared for. Her leadership sets the tone for the entire program, and you can see its impact in every corner of the Hope Institute. The program itself is outstanding. It challenges you to be honest with yourself while giving you the tools to build a lasting recovery. Every group, every therapy session, and every conversation has helped me grow. Recovery isn’t easy, but the Hope Institute has created an environment where healing feels possible. The houses are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. They feel like homes, not institutions. That sense of comfort makes it easier to focus on the real work of recovery. What has surprised me the most is the community. The people here have become some of the biggest sources of encouragement in my life. I’ve laughed, cried, learned, and grown alongside people who understand exactly what this journey feels like. There is something incredibly powerful about recovering together. I came here feeling broken and overwhelmed by addiction. I’m leaving with hope, purpose, and confidence that I can build a better life. The Hope Institute didn’t just help me get sober. It helped me rediscover the person I was always meant to be. If you’re considering treatment for yourself or someone you love, I cannot recommend the Hope Institute highly enough. This place saves lives, and I will always be grateful that it helped save mine.Posted on Google![]()

The Hope Institute changed my life; their program didn’t just help me to stay clean, it also helped me work towards who I want to be, it taught me how to live, how to feel, and how to believe that recovery is possible. The staff are incredible, compassionate, knowledgeable, patient, and committed to helping people heal. Every clinician, tech, and support staff member made sure I felt safe, understood, and respected. I learned tools that I use every day, and for the first time, recovery feels sustainable. The environment is welcoming, clean, and calm. My therapist Jillian listened without judgment, challenged me when I needed it, and supported me when I felt like giving up. This place gave me hope when I had none and saved my life in ways I’ll never fully be able to put into words. I am forever grateful for the guidance, honesty, community, and hope I found herePosted on Google![]()

Jason Krail from the Hope institute was a breath of fresh air. He helped me and my family with so many things especially with mental health. Still to this day I keep in contact with Jason. The Hope Institute truly lives up to its name. They help people recover by creating a safe, supportive, and genuinely positive environment. What really stands out is how welcoming and family-like it feels for both the clients and the staff. You can really see the impact they make on people who come in for the first time feeling scared or confused. Over time, those same individuals begin to open up, come out of their shell, and actively participate in their recovery. That kind of growth speaks volumes about the care, patience, and compassion shown here. Everyone is treated with respect and understanding, and there’s a strong sense of community throughout the program. Recovery here feels hopeful, empowering, and uplifting. I’m truly grateful for the environment they’ve created.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Morristown Drug Rehab FAQs
Is there an outpatient drug rehab near Morristown, NJ?
Yes. The Hope Institute offers outpatient drug and alcohol rehab at 179 Cahill Cross Road in West Milford, about 40 minutes from Morristown via I-287. Morristown residents can attend IOP in person on a day or evening track, or join virtual IOP from home.
Do you treat cocaine addiction?
Yes. Our outpatient program treats cocaine addiction with cognitive behavioral therapy, group and individual counseling, and relapse prevention work. If alcohol or other drugs are also involved, we treat them in the same plan.
What is the difference between partial care and IOP?
Both are outpatient, so you go home each day. Partial care is more intensive, with several hours of treatment a day on multiple days each week. IOP meets three to four times a week for about three hours per session, which makes it easier to keep working.
What happens during rehab?
Outpatient rehab starts with an assessment, then regular therapy sessions: group therapy, one-on-one counseling and skills work on cravings, triggers and stress. Family sessions and medication are added when they fit your plan. As you progress, sessions become less frequent until you move into aftercare.
What is cognitive behavioral therapy for addiction?
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-focused therapy that shows how your thoughts, feelings and actions connect to substance use. You learn to recognize triggers, challenge the thoughts that lead to using and practice new ways to cope. CBT is used in both group and individual sessions in our program.
